Preparing the Way is a Preschool for children from 3 to 5 years old who work, play, learn & pray together in a prepared Montessori/Christian environment.
Preparing the Way Preschool is a gathering of children from 3 to 5 years old who work, play, learn and pray together in a prepared environment that offers choices of individual ?pieces of work? that aid the children in learning independence and confidence. We believe as Dr. Maria Montessori has said- ?The child can develop fully by means of experience in his environment. We call such experiences ?work?? and ?The essence of independence is to be able to do something for one?s self.? The guides help the children ?do it alone? by giving them the ability to choose freely, to help them sustain focused and concentrated attention, to think clearly and constructively, and to express themselves through language and the arts. Through the active development of the will and the satisfaction of their authentic needs, the children become self-disciplined and self-assured. ?Since it is through movement that the Will realizes itself, we should assist a child in his attempts to put his Will into act.? ~Dr. Maria Montessori Areas of activity are Practical Life, Dramatic Play, Sensorial Exploration, Literacy, Cultural subjects, Art, Science and Math. The extensive sets of Montessori materials in each of these areas are designed to appeal to the children's deep interest and to inspire repeated activity.
